About Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is a Quechua word that means “old mountain.” This is an archaeological that was found in the last century, surrounded by a rainforest of the high jungle of Cusco. The site was constructed between the XV and XVI centuries by the Incas, which seems to have been inhabited by Incan priests, nobles and aqllas (the “virgins of the sun”).
